Video streaming app: the new era of entertainment
Streaming has become one of the fundamental pillars of entertainment and video content sharing in the digital age. Services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ have gained widespread popularity by offering a wide range of movies, TV series, and original programming that can be accessed from any Internet-connected device. But why is it so important for these entities to have a dedicated app for broadcasting their content?
For several reasons: convenience, for example, because accessing content through a streaming app is very convenient; in fact, its user-friendly interface allows users to browse a vast catalog of content easily. Moreover, in just a few taps, one can use all the main features, such as searching for movies or TV series, creating customized lists, and receiving suggestions based on one's tastes. In addition, you can receive notifications when a video on demand becomes available or when a live stream is about to start.
Another feature is the immediacy with which you have access to the content you want. In fact, with a streaming app it is possible to view any content available on the platform at any time.
Versatility is also the key: to enjoy content in different ways that enhance the user experience, many apps allow downloading for offline viewing, or allow playback on multiple devices.
All these features have led to strong growth in "connected TVs" and subscriptions to streaming services, confirming how apps are an indispensable tool for the success of such platforms and for meeting users' needs.
Among the benefits of apps for content sharers instead are the ability to track usage metrics and profile their users. Streaming app owners will also be able to communicate directly to the entire pool of users who have downloaded the app through customized notifications with call-to-actions.
All these features have led to strong growth in "connected TVs" and subscriptions to streaming services, confirming how apps are an indispensable tool for the success of such platforms and for meeting users' needs.
We at Archibuzz have been working for years with WimTV, a company that enables its customers to set up their own online web TV quickly and intuitively. Be it events, sports meetings, shows, courses, WimTV is a simple and unique video streaming platform to manage and publish content, even live.
Initially, web TVs were only reachable through browsers on the platform. But the company felt the need to provide customers with the next step: the implementation of the mobile app for their web TV.
Our digital agency was responsible for the design and development of mobile apps for clients who chose WimTV for their streaming services.
The app has the same functionality as the online web TV: content is organized into programs that follow the daily schedule (thus usable at the time indicated for live streaming) or in on-demand video streaming, accessible at any time. Each app, then, is customized according to the colors, text, and logo of the web TV.
Some time ago, we designed and developed the mobile app for Renzo Arbore's web TV: music, entertainment, cabaret, and programs from the past with which to go back in time in the history of Italian television.
But a video streaming app can be a great move regardless of the topic of the content; the themes can be the most diverse: sports as for Sutor Basket TV, politics as for MAIE Channel, or fashion, make-up, cooking, fairs, the sea. Whatever the topic of the video content, an app is the right solution if you want to provide your audience with a targeted and personalized experience that they can enjoy anytime they want.
